Tuesday Seniors can sometimes be a stressful time........clearly it was today for Hugh Kerr, after playing 15 holes with Dave Burden and Ian Bonham.....
They had started on the 4th and had arrived at the 1st. As Dave and Ian headed for the 1st fairway, Hugh had had enough and hurled himself into the pond......twice.....
Apparently, Hugh had played a less than high quality tee shot, and had reached the pond....just.
..
He could see a ball in approx the right area, and being a canny Scot, he didn't want to pass up on his 15 hole old Titleist, so armed with his trusty pitching wedge, he eased himself down the slope to retrieve it.
Almost immediately, a great battle between a set of soft spikes, a steep wet slope and gravity began. Gravity won comprehensively, and as Hugh let out a cry as his feet went from under him, Dave and Ian turned just in time to see Hugh do a passable impersonation of a man on his back at a waterpark on the steepest chute......
He landed on his back and slid into the water, turned over and scrambled halfway up the bank. Dave and Ian were, to be fair, doubled half over with laughter.......
Almost immediately, a great battle between a set of soft spikes, a steep wet slope and gravity began again. Gravity won - again.
Hugh let out another cry as his feet went from under him, Dave and Ian doubled the rest of the way over which made it harder to see Hugh do a passable impersonation of a man on his front at a waterpark on the steepest chute......
After two dunkings, he finally made it out and for some unknown reason, declined to finish the last three holes......
To add insult to injury, he forgot to retrieve the ball whilst he was down there.......
